Large, Spanish. Light yellow skin, globe shape, very sweet, mild white flesh. Short term storage. Extremely popular and versatile garden vegetable that is easily grown from seed. A staple in most kitchens that is eaten raw or cooked and used as a flavorful addition to any main course.

Plant: Select a sunny, well drained location and sow as soon as the ground can be worked. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food and organic matter. Firm soil over seed. For early crop start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before planting outdoors. In frost-free regions plant in fall for spring harvest.

Care: Keep soil moist and fertilize every 6-8 weeks.

Harvest: Allow tops to fall and die before harvesting.
